Privacy Policy
Effective date: January 1, 2025
Who we are
Listmize (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides a platform for creating, sharing, and discovering curated lists. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information. If you are in the EU/EEA/UK, Canada, or certain US states, additional rights may apply (see below).

- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and enforce Terms.
- Communicate about account activity, updates, or support requests.
- Comply with legal obligations.
Legal bases (EU/UK): We process data to perform our contract with you, for our legitimate interests (e.g., securing and improving the service), and to comply with legal obligations. Where required (e.g., analytics/non-essential cookies), we rely on your consent.
Sharing
- Public content: Public lists, comments, and profiles are visible to anyone.
- Service providers: Infrastructure, analytics, and email providers under confidentiality obligations.

International transfers: Data may be processed in countries outside your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your information.
Cookies and preferences
We use cookies/local storage to keep you signed in and remember settings. Non-essential cookies/analytics are used only with consent where required (e.g., EU/UK). You can clear or block cookies in your browser; doing so may limit functionality.
Data retention
We retain account and content data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. We may retain limited records after deletion to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce terms. When retention is no longer necessary, data is deleted or anonymized.
Your choices
- Visibility: Choose public or private lists. Email visibility is hidden by default.
- Access, correction, deletion: You can request a copy, correction, or deletion of your account and content by contacting us (see “Contact”). We will respond consistent with applicable law (GDPR/UK GDPR, PIPEDA, CCPA/CPRA where applicable).
- Preferences: Manage cookies via your browser; manage notifications in-app.
- Do Not Sell/Share (US state laws): If we engage in activities considered “selling” or “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, you may opt out via the “Do Not Sell/Share” link (provided in-app). Currently, we do not sell personal information.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; use strong, unique credentials and report suspected issues.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us to remove it.
Your rights (region-specific)
- EU/UK (GDPR/UK GDPR): You may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to processing, and data portability. You may also have the right to withdraw consent and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
- Canada (PIPEDA and similar): You may request access to and correction of your personal information and withdraw consent where applicable.
- US (CCPA/CPRA and similar state laws): You may have rights to access, delete, correct, and opt out of selling/sharing personal information, and to limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not sell personal information; if that changes, opt-out options will be provided.
To exercise rights, contact us (see “Contact”). We will verify requests as required by law.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be noted in-app or via email. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
